I recently bought a Juiced CCX e bike which stands taller than my pedal road bike. Road bike measures about 29 inches from center of seat to center of BB, along the seat post. In order to maintain that comfortable spread, my seat ends up being almost two inches further from the ground, and I can barely touch the ground with my tip toes. This is not good for an 80-year-old man on a 65+ pound bike. This dropper post allows me to lower seat to easy mount/dismount position, then once on, rise to my ideal riding position. It might not be ideal for a mountain biker who needs to raise and lower the seat more often because it is a little awkward to grasp lever under the seat, but for someone like me, it's a simple, affordable solution. It also seems very well made, works like a charm when I ease off the seat and lift the lever, I can hear a slight sound when the seat extends fully.
